Picking this up for summer too!
Chanced upon this on TVer this morning lol. I don’t recognize anyone in the cast, except the actress playing the agency president. Never watched the anime either. But the first episode was fun so I’ve decided to go ahead and sub it! There will be 12 episodes in total.
Synopsis:
35-year-old Sanada Kentaro suddenly finds himself unemployed after his company goes bankrupt. Attracted by the great benefits, he applies for a full-time position at Manpuku Talent Production, only to end up tearing up during the interview when the company president harshly calls out his naive outlook. However, a manager takes an inexplicable interest in Kentaro and decides to recruit him for “Eternal Boys”, an idol group the agency is betting its future on.
Built on the concept that “anyone can shine at any time”, the group brings together an eccentric mix of six men approaching the age of 40, including a former pro soccer player, a former child actor, a former high school teacher, and a former host. As they move into a shared dorm to prepare for their debut, Kentaro struggles with the unfamiliar singing and dancing. With each member carrying their own complex baggage and conflicts, the six men must clash, support one another, and wholeheartedly forge their path toward becoming idols.
