Synopsis:
Based on the novel by Nakayama Shichiri, this legal mystery follows rookie judge Koenji Madoka (Yoshine Kyoko) as she verifies “Houshin”, an experimental AI introduced in the courthouse to generate instant judgments. While other judges welcome the efficiency of the system, Madoka remains wary of AI’s involvement in decisions that determine the course of a person’s life.
The tension peaks when she, alongside veteran judge Hiba (Kunimura Jun), is assigned the case of an 18-year-old boy (Iuchi Haruhi) accused of killing his father, only for Houshin’s simulation to return an immediate death sentence before the trial even begins. Madoka must now navigate a case that questions the true role of a judge in an era of mechanical efficiency.
