This was one of my unannounced ‘secret’ projects I mentioned earlier this year. Just felt like announcing it today because I’m drunk. Synopsis:
Right after a major earthquake which took place the morning after his father’s wake, Mizuhara Masaya (Tsukamoto Takashi) inadvertently kills his uncle who had pressed him to repay his father’s debts. When he recovers his senses, he realizes that the act was witnessed by a woman called Shinkai Mifuyu (Fukada Kyoko) whom he soon befriends at the earthquake’s evacuation camp. She sometimes shows glimpses of a fiery temper while at other times she seems feeble. Before Mizuhara realises it, he has fallen under her spell of beauty and wit. He then learns of the existence of a videotape recording of his uncle’s death and finds himself in a pinch… Meanwhile, a police detective Kato Wataru (Shibata Kyohei) and his partner Nishizaki Takahito (Kikawada Masaya) arrive from Tokyo at the disaster site in pursuit of a wanted criminal. When Kato catches sight of Shinkai, he senses something suspicious…
